Core Services Engineering and Operations (CSEO) builds and manages the critical products and services that Microsoft runs on. Our teams are seeking Software Engineers, to join us as we create and deliver mission critical business services and processes for Microsoft.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop distributed software services and solutions
  • Passion for software quality and strong customer focus
  • Ability to quickly ramp up on new technologies.
  • Ability to leverage existing platforms and tools to improve delivery velocity
  • Develop “best-in-class” engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored and reusable
  • Familiarity with continuous deployment, deployment automation, telemetry frameworks and concepts, test driven development and Testing in Production.
  • Focus on customer/partner needs through a data driven approach (leveraging data, monitoring/telemetry, etc.)

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:  

  • 2+ years development and design working on high availability systems
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C#, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, Data Warehouse, and reporting frameworks, relational or NoSQL database experience, test automation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Operating in an Agile team
  • Experience with direct, remote and virtual teams
  • Relevant experience in design
  • Testing mindset, before beginning code development
  • Translate problem solving techniques into code
  • Understanding of data structure and data storage solutions
