Job Description

TEALS recruits, trains, and partners high-tech industry volunteers with knowledge and passion for computer science to teach high school computer science courses with existing classroom teachers. The program builds CS teacher capacity with schools and districts across the U.S. TEALS is an industry-leading volunteer and community driven program supported by Microsoft Philanthropies. TEALS has partnered with more than 500 high schools in 29 states, worked with 2,500+ volunteers from across industry, and taught approximately 25,000 high school students since 2009.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a framework for strategic partnerships with corporate, academic, nonprofit, and other like-minded organizations to broaden the impact and effectiveness of the TEALS mission and reach. Ensure TEALS is a visible and engaged partner in key national CS education initiatives and conversations
  • Build, manage and grow relationships with specific existing and future strategic partners
  • With TEALS leadership, build relationships with stakeholders and internal Microsoft teams including product, engineering, design, education sales and others that can partner with TEALS
  • Drive agreements with new and existing partners, in close collaboration with cross functional team members such as TEALS field, program, operations and our legal department as appropriate
  • Track and manage a network of subject matter experts across CS education, corporate partners, non-profits, and other community members for collaboration to strengthen our work focused on shared goals
  • 25% travel required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or MS Degree a plus
  • 3+ years related experience in partnerships management or business development
  • Experience across corporate, nonprofits and education industries ideally focused in technology and computer science
  • Excellent project management ability
  • Demonstrate strategic and creative thinking, quantitative and analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to contribute to data-backed decisions to help inform the strategy
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with a high level of comfort escalating and presenting to senior management when appropriate
  • Understand stakeholders’ and partners’ needs to better identify trends and market opportunities
  • Strong project management, communication, facilitation, and informal influencing skills, including the ability to build rapport and relationships with senior-level leaders and day-to-day contacts
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills with a high level of comfort escalating and presenting to senior management when appropriate
  • Strong cross functional collaboration and relationship-building skills
