We are looking for a Field Engineer/Site Supervisor to join our Power Grids division, Local Product Group Electrical Substations’ Service, located in Sesto San Giovanni (Milan).
In this role, you will execute and/or supervise maintenance activities on electrical substations, with specific focus on Power Quality, passive and active filters and their control systems.

Your responsibilities

• In this position you will be most of your time on the field and you will perform and/or supervise the following activities inside the environment of electrical substations:
• • Commissioning or maintenance of Flexible Alternating Current Transmission Systems, Static Var Compensators, Passive Filters and their control and refrigeration systems.
• • Maintenance, modifications and upgrades of electrical substations and their components, if necessary in cooperation with the specialists of other ABB Product Groups or Subcontractors.
• • You will systematically develop your knowledge in both electrical power equipment and systems, and in protection and control, with particular interest in digital technology, digitalization, and advanced services (remote control and assistance, smart glasses, augmented reality, predictive maintenance…).
• • If necessary, you will support the internal team in the following office activities: tendering, engineering solutions, support of project managers, with flexible attitude.

Your background

• • You hold an High School Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Technology, or in Information Technology.
• • You have minimum 3 years experience in: installation and/or commissioning and maintenance of power electrical equipment and systems, and Protection and Control equipment (SCADA, DCS).
• • You have a strong basic knowledge of computer technologies, and you are genuinely interested in increasing your digital skills.
• Good English is required, both written and spoken.
• • Italian mandatory.
• • EU Work visa permit required.
• • You are flexible, willing to travel also in an international environment, able to interact and cooperate with Customers,and with Colleagues of different disciplines.
