The Product Manager for Industrial DC will demonstrate leadership by creating user relationships to develop a strategy and growth plan within selected vertical markets working together with the KAMs and Product Managers.
Your responsibilities
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• This role will create & communicate business goals, programs, and processes to increase business hit rates on conversions. The Product Manager will be responsible for the core applications relating to Industrial DC products and be the primary interface between commercial teams & product management. In this role you will utilize your experience & expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and affect short / long term goals.
• Participate in information gathering meetings with clients, field services, sales, and product managers to determine the clients' needs, business goals, and desired outcomes
• Utilize knowledge of systems and control to produce the necessary outcome for a client, as well as assist in providing instructions that help the client better understand the nature and applications of the specific products and solutions
• Be the liaison between product management, requisition engineering, and sales
Conduct competitive product analyses with local markets and segments, gather, distill and deliver voice of customer to the business team in order to prioritize Equipment Product needs and focus
• Drive project strategy on large deals, coaching local team members and increasing touch points upstream in the sales cycle
• Clearly define and communicate problems as perceived by the customer/sales
• Manage the activities of supporting organizations through Product managers to ensure that technical and business problems are resolved in the balanced interest of GE and the customer
• Screen and analyze customer order practices looking for trends and unusual order practices
Provide liaison between Product Managers, Quality, Operations, and Engineering to resolve product field issues
• Collaborate with the commercial, sales and product management teams on strategic direction, establish product pricing targets / thresholds, develop product positioning statements / value propositions
• Ensure engagement in product information / sales support
• Support the Inquiry to Order process by developing technical proposals for customers when required
• Maintain and continuously update technical skills and knowledge required for the focus areas
Your background
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 7 years of experience in an applications, specification, technical, sales and/or product management / technical marketing role.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience industrial markets and product management, sales, engineering or marketing
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven analytical ability
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Able to work in matrix environment
