ABB is seeking a College Student Internship - Spring 2020 (Undergrad -Cyber Security) for its Cleveland, Ohio location. This role is responsible to support the design, development and implementation process of delivering distributed control systems to effectively utilize state-of-the-art developments encompassing various engineering and related fields and associated products within the utility industry. This position focusses on the application of Cyber Security controls into and around the distributed controls systems.

Your responsibilities

  • Identify and deploy ongoing DCS system strategies for security and developing engineering application standards.
  • Work with industry committees and security organizations ISA, SANS, NERC, FERC, and Department of Homeland Security.
  • Support engineers and project teams within the division and North American region w/ security implementation, project design reviews and direct contract support.
  • Document standards approach to be used by control system engineers and technicians.
  • Provide direct consulting to customers and support plant audits.
  • Develop standards for IT asset monitoring and control network asset monitoring.
  • Support sales and marketing.
  • Provide training to technical individuals within the region.
  • Provide design input to R&D.
  • This position will also learn the latest networking and control system products (800xA & Symphony Plus) to lead departmental efforts with rolling out and applying cyber security technologies to control system offerings.

Your background

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Engineering degree program in the US preferably Electrical, Chemical or Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 3.0 minimum GPA.
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior year.
  • Must be currently authorized to work for ABB in the US.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, specifically, Word, Excel & Visio.
  • Strategic approach to problem solving, ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
