ABB is seeking a Global Product Specialist for its Atlanta, Georgia location. Global Product Specialist will be responsible to support the Global Product Manager to optimize the product/system portfolio and return on investment. Ensure ABB has a full understanding of market requirements in North America for the Building and Home Automation Solution portfolio and is able to transform these requirements into product/system/service specifications and development activities.

Your responsibilities

• Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Follows and understands global standards, market and customer requirements and their impact on the product/system portfolio. Conducts valuations of market size and trends, conducts competitor analyses including identification of product/system gaps and evaluates the ABB position.
• Ensures technical solutions can be used across the Product Group’s product/system portfolio as far as is possible. Manages the technical specification of product assigned and supports the Product Manager in developing the business case for product/system developments, maintenance and cost reduction. Follows major warranty cases and quality cost drivers for assigned products/system and ensures a resolution.
• Collects and analyses standards, market requirements, customer needs and values as an input for producing a product roadmap. From identified opportunities, supports the Global Product Manager in creating the business case for product/system development projects or product/system transfers.
• Prepares product/system market communication materials, including support for new product/system launches.
• Clarifies product/system positioning within the portfolio, with defined values per product/system line to address different segment needs.
• Keeps Product Group, Sales and channels informed on topics related to the product/system, such as new product/system availability, market, competition, quality, configuration, trends and limitations. Provides sales support, participates in customer meetings and attends trade shows on request. Supports marketing programs. Ensures appropriate training material is available for use both internally and externally.
• Drives technical solutions across the product/system line. Maintains and follows annual cycle of activities to govern product management for assigned products/system.

Your background

• Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of experience in product management, R&D or business areas
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Engineering degree
• Interested and motivated to a product management role
• Digital background and interested into home and building automation environment
• Self-motivated, curious, proactive and results oriented are the key behavioral attitudes
