ABB is seeking a Location Human Resources business Partner for its Mebane, North Caroline location. As a member of the plant senior leadership team in the manufacturing location in Mebane, North Caroline, the position holder will provide HR leadership and support for the site. In addition, accountable for overall HR contribution and value-add to the business to ensure maximum manufacturing operations, and positive employee and workplace relations. Ensure compliance to related laws and regulations through the application of policies and procedures.
Implement people strategy and actions in line with the ELDS Business Line and Electrification Division.
Your responsibilities
- Local Strategic Leadership: Provide leadership and expertise for the full scope of Human Resource functions including all aspects of professional relations, employee benefits, compensation, employee involvement, practices, policies, training, organizational change & development, communications and community relations. Consult with the clients to define roles and missions, design the organizational structure, and organization effectiveness. Develop appropriate human resource plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment and develop / implement appropriate change management plans as required. Participate and contribute to local business strategy to ensure business targets are met or exceeded
- HR Solutions and Process Implementation: Oversee the implementation of HR processes within areas of responsibilities requiring on-site support and follow up. Partner with managers, supervisors and employees to understand current issues that can be supported or resolved through HR practices, processes or policies in in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements. Counsel Managers, supervisors and employees on the most effective solutions to resolve issues. Develop appropriate human resource plans in support of key business needs in a dynamic, changing environment and develop / implement appropriate change management plans as required.
- Employee and Manager Relations: Represent HR in the workplace through employee engagement, building partnerships between employees, HR and Management. Serve as an employee advocate and conduct investigations of allegations as needed in adherence to ABB policies and instructions. Build credible and trusting relationships with production employee population to help facilitate effective employee communications and relations. Assess and measure employee engagement and morale and take actions to address through the implementation of local employee programs for recognition and activities. Provide coaching to managers and employees to translate leadership paired values into action, demonstrate business-led collaboration, people management and development. Implement the people strategy locally in line with the Country division and local business unit to include people, culture and organization.
- Performance Management and Capability and Workforce Planning: Key responsibility for developing leadership pipeline by identifying and managing the movement of key talent. The successful candidate will provide leadership to People Review process, from the identification of key talent to succession planning, participate as an active member of the Leadership team, and drive commitments to accelerate the growth of the business. Perform a leadership role in recruiting, selection, career development, restructuring & reduction of the workforce. Support managers in the implementation and follow up on performance management activities including performance improvement, oversight on the performance appraisal process, and training identification needs, and succession planning. Work with managers to build functional people and organizational capabilities needed in the mid to long term to execute the business strategy and meet or exceed annual business targets.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources management, Industrial relations or related discipline
- Minimum of 12 or more years of progressive HR Management experience
- Minimum of 5 years of Senior HR Management experience in large manufacturing; solid HR expertise, including employee relations, organizational development and staffing, compensation and performance management
- Master’s degree is preferred
- HR experience as a government contractor and experience in AAP
- SAP and Workday system experience
- Ability to manage and influence in a matrix environment
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Change management/facilitation skills
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States.
