The lead test engineer will be responsible for Automated Test Equipment to support ABB Design Center in Plano, Texas.

Your responsibilities

• Develop automated test software and hardware used for product manufacturing.
• Work closely with Electrical, Software and Mechanical design team members to provide design-for-test recommendations and early testing / calibration solutions.
• Test, debug, and repair Automated Test Systems and fixtures.
• Provide technical support for product and test issues both on site and at manufacturing facilities.
• Create documentation such as manufacturing test requirements and wiring instructions.
• Prepare reports, charts, and diagrams to clearly convey test results and highlight areas that need improvement.
• Develop instrumentation drivers for new equipment. Coordinate lab equipment calibration schedules.
• Handle equipment replacement and upgrades.
• Attend project meetings and prepare status reports

Your background

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field from US credited university.
• Minimum 5 years of job experience of testing power electronics components of telecom or industrial industry: Controllers, AC-DC Rectifiers, and DC-DC Converters
• Available to travel to Mexico if needed
• Master’s degree is preferred.
• Designed hardware test fixtures.
• Developed manufacturing test requirements, burn-in test process
• Digital & Analog test sets design and maintenance
• Experience in C programming, Test Stand, ATE development, Communication protocols (I2C, RS485, RS232, GPIB), and manufacturing support.
• Experience with business applications such as SAP and Windchill.
• Experience with technical applications such as Allegro, AutoCAD, and OrCAD.
• Experience with SPC tools and concepts. Six Sigma Green belt certification is preferred.
