The Field Service Engineer/Technician will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, evaluating and troubleshooting power systems within datacenters, healthcare and other applications that require critical power infrastructure.The person will have a high level of electrical and mechanical expertise, You will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, complete tasks, and solve key customer issues in a timely manner.
Your responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend corrective process plans as well as other services to maintain top quality customer service and expected results
- Configure, perform problem diagnosis, and recommend solutions for critical issues
- Test, commission, program, troubleshoot, repair, upgrade, retrofit and install UPS and high and low voltage AC equipment , including the battery plant
- Maintain ongoing phone support and customer service objectives
- Maintain customer relations through issue management
- Be responsible for data entry and maintenance of critical information systems & tool
- Orchestrate dispatch of parts and services as needed
- Be a technical expert on the products and ability to make timely decisions on repair and customer issues
- Provide support for internal quality information feedback loop
- Provide user support including problem diagnosis and resolutions in all the above areas
- Maintain and detail technical documentation including manuals, processes, field service reports, and method of procedures
- Be responsible for in field repair of systems and/or technical assistance
- Perform collateral duties as assigned to meet business needs as they relate to EHS (Environmental Health & Safety), Quality, Integrity.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering / Electronics
- knowledge of UPS and AC power delivery equipment
- experience working with Critical Power industry on UPS and AC equipment
- Advanced knowledge of AC and UPS Power Systems equipment and hardware
- strong working knowledge of Power Electronics / Digital / Analog circuits and associated test equipment
- Ability to efficiently work from engineering prints / schematics and parts lists
- Ability to troubleshoot products / equipment to component level and recommend corrective actions As necessary
- Be a strong self-motivator and be able to work long hours independently as needed
