In this role, you will lead a team of accounting professionals dedicated to driving optimal performance, compliance and efficient financial processes. You will safeguard the companies brand and with CFO manage portfolio risk. The IDCP Controller will lead by example and maintain a culture of strong controllership and compliance. This position will report to CFO.

Your responsibilities

• Effectively translates specific financial-guidelines (GAAP, stat., etc.) into practical business solutions.
• Uses experience and knowledge of line of business and trends to determine materiality of variances in the financial statements.
• Ensures the accuracy of the organization’s financial results by recognizing and preventing misrepresentation, concealment, or omission of information.
• Owner of company financial close process and reporting required deliverables
• Establishes appropriate financial process routines and controls to identify activities that may cause the misstatement of financial position.
• Provide balance sheet commentary to explain and support financial movements.
• Lead business review cycles around intangibles, goodwill, fixed assets, etc.
• Manage staff accountants overseeing payroll and benefits, inventory, capitalized software, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other general accounting.
• Assist with preparation and report out of business financial reporting package.
• Serves as key contact for external auditors and manages audit requests through the organization.
• Provide commercial accounting guidance to the teams, including oversight of revenue milestones and allocations
• Proactively identifies new accounting standards applicable to the business and develops appropriate implementation strategy.
• Identify simplification opportunities and continuously drive process efficiencies.
• Assist CFO with ad hoc projects and requests as needed.

Your background

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong change management leadership skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Adaptable to change and drives continuous improvement
• SAP and Hyperion experience
• Ability to manage competing priorities
• Recognizes cultural differences when managing international multicultural teams
• Strong Analytical skills
• Able to lead remote teams
• Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in United States.
