The Inside Sales Representative will be part of the Motors & Mechanical Operations Team, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. This position is responsible to provide internal and external customer support (e.g. technical, order assistance, payment-related assistance). Manage customer accounts including orders, quotes, and expedites from order intake to delivery.

ABB Motors and Generators deliver a complete range of motors, generators and mechanical power transmission products for all industries and applications. We provide the highest quality and service to our customers all around the world, with a focus on helping to use energy more efficiently.

Your responsibilities

  • Supports the local Sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions.
  • Provides technical support during technical meetings and/or product presentations.
  • Prepares/supports preparation of technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit/feeder factory indications and Sales organization directives.
  • Defines cost for the proposed solution and communicates to Customer & Sales organization.
  • Analyses customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the sales organization.
  • Performs lost proposal analysis, identifies potential cause, and recommends future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Unit to obtain better future results.
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication.
  • Track promised customer ship dates.
  • Manage large amounts of incoming calls and emails.

Your background

  • Post-secondary education in a related area plus relevant training and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in sales and a solid technical background with mechanical products (ie.: bearings, gearing, industrial power transmission product).
  • Superior ability to handle multiple demands, competing priorities, adapt to new ideas & constant changes and deliver successful results.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards in a diverse workplace.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong listening and presentation skills.
  • SAP knowledge and Logistics are considered an asset.
