We are looking for a Project Leader to join our Power Grids division in Business Unit Grid Automation, located in Santa Palomba. The candidate will work in the Engineering&Testing department managing the technical aspects of engineering development.
You will technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as low engineering complexity. You will ensure that activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are efficiently and cost-effectively executed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards and safety requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Technical contribution: as a technical lead for all Engineering, You will discipline, evaluate, select and apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to perform task or sequence of tasks, for conventional projects with few complex features. You will execute assignments using established solutions. You may act as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and complete engineering assignments for that discipline. You will collaborate on project installation, commissioning and site activities, clarifying potential issues or providing solutions to correct engineering errors. You will provide technical support to commissioning and start-up activities.
• Sales support: You will assist in creating proposals for projects through coordination of proposal documents and engineering estimates. You will assist in performing engineering risk analysis before submitting proposal.
• Contract management: You will support Contract Manager in issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.)
• Planning and control: You will create work plans and cost estimates in one’s area of responsibility.
• Risk and opportunity management: You will evaluate risks and opportunities, strategizes mitigation of one’s engineering projects/programs. You will support the Project Manager in overall project risk and opportunity assessments and implementation of resulting actions. Identifies opportunities for repeating and new businesses
• Customer: You will interact with customers, contractors, suppliers. You will attend project meetings and presents all technical aspects of project assignments.
• Supply chain management: You will oversee the creation of subcontracts and manages subcontractors jointly with other involved functions, including supply chain management.
• Technical leadership and knowledge sharing: You will collaborate and network with engineering colleagues within ABB. You will share best practice across different projects and disciplines.
• Processes and tools: You will utilize standard processes, tools and techniques. You will ensure that engineering activities comply with required safety regulations and contractual requirements.
• People leadership and development: You will lead, supervise and coordinate teams in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on low complexity projects. You will lead single or multi-discipline engineering teams of less than 5 resources.

Your background

If You have:

• A degree in Electrical or IT Engineering;
• At least 5 years of experience in the protection and control field in the Power Station environment;
• Working experience with SCADA;
• A good knowledge of the English language;
