JOB DESCRIPTION:

AstraZeneca is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious diseases. The Science & Enabling Units IT is AZ’s global IT capability function supporting key business areas operating out of sites across the US, UK, Sweden, India & Mexico.

We are looking for a passionate ETL developer who will leverage tools & technology best practices to improve delivery performance & data engineering capabilities in the D&A space.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 5-17 years of working in IT (minimum 3 years of working experience on Talend)
• Excellent Communication and Team Coordination Skills
• Strong skills in ETL modelling, designing and development environment.
• Has an ability & experience to lead a team of 4-5 members
• Experienced on Data Transformations, Profiling and Cleansing operations.
• Able to deal with heterogeneous data sources/destinations (Like different RDBS systems, Flat files, spread sheets and JSON) to extract/load data.
• Dealing with JSON / Document type data is mandatory
• Working knowledge on Linux systems preferable
• ETL jobs maintenance and scheduling
• Must have ETL jobs/packages upgradation skills and Integration server maintenance.
• Able to deal with publishing packages and push deployment.
• Working experience on Data warehouse and dimensional modelling.
• Good knowledge on Testing ETL packages.
• SQL skills including optimizing queries .
• Working experience on relational DB’s , Graph DB’s and BigData is preferable.
• Working experience on any reporting tools (Jasper ,Qlik View,Tableau ..) is preferable.
• Other ETL environment knowledge is Added advantage (Like SQL server Integration Services).
• Knowledge on Visualization technologies is preferable.
• Working experience on Java is preferable.
• Test and quality assess new D&A solutions, to ensure they are fit for release: code assurance, Unit and System Integration Testing, Data testing, release management control and support of UAT processes
• Ensure that business data and information assets are made available as data services and artefacts for consumption by the wider AZ enterprise

MANDATORY SKILLS:

• Experience of working with a range of data analytics architectures. These may include: traditional warehousing, visualization
• Experience with & knowledge of Talend including:
  • Use of enterprise version of Talend Software.
  • Development of standard ETL jobs deployed on JobServers
  • Familiar with using version control (branching, merging etc), ideally Git
  • Knowledge of working with Talend project branches, merging them and publishing and deploying code to runtime environments
  • Knowledge of techniques for optimising Talend code
  • Experience in Talend best practices for error handling, optimization, job layout, job design and naming conventions
• Experience and familiarity with data models and artefacts
• Experience on Java is preferable
• Good written and verbal skills, fluent English

DESIERED SKILLS:

• Domain knowledge (processes & data): Pharma R&D
• Knowledge of services (REST, SOAP, Camel Routes) deployed on Talend ESB infrastructure.
• Use of enterprise version of Talend Software preferably in a virtualized environment like AWS.
• Experience of working with NoSQL, virtualization, data streaming etc.
• Amazon Web Services: Connecting, loading and reading data from AWS database technologies like MySQL, Aurora, AWS Redshift, PostgreSQL

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:                         Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Computer Sciences or related fields from a reputed institution.
