Job Description

Responsibilities

Infrastructure and Operation Support:

The technician is at the receiving end of incident notifications (Service Desk and Supervision); he is the incident manager on the entire infrastructure perimeter.

-       Ensure the completion of incident records by the Service Desk

-       In the event of a major incident, ensure the global management of the issue and ensure communication with the Help Desk and users.

-       Control the quality of the incident database (knowledge database), the relevance of the information input inside the database by the handlers and the associated reports.

-       Define, with help from all the stakeholders, the action plan aiming at constantly improving the process (issues management). Follow up on the action plans in question.

-       Proactively follow up and document on changes within the infrastructure perimeter

-       Monitoring of criterial applications and servers performance

-       Ensure daily operations batch runs for criterial application are completed, liaise with data centre and head office to investigate and solve for batch and technical issues

-       End user support on all IT matters, including workstations, MSOffice, Outlook, Java, Citrix desktop etc

Programming Support:

-       End user tools with MSOffice environment

-       Basic SQL and database programming

-       Technical skills acquisition: SQL, VBA, MSOffice, Sybase, Java scripting

-       Communication with the Project manager or the Help Desk manager for the operational meeting, in order to explain the situation, make corrections and adaptations

-       Communication and organization with the production service providers for the production phase

Experience / Qualifications

-       University Degree with IT/finance major

-       Thorough understanding of the Service Desk profession within the banking industry

-       At least 3- 4 years’ experience in Finance industry/in a similar capacity

-       Excellent knowledge of PC based applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

-       Hands on experience on Citrix, Unix and Windows environments

-       Strong VBA, SQL, scripting are essential skill

-       Strong analytical skills 

-       Good communication and inter-personal skills 

-       Excellent organization and time management skills 

-       Able to work well under pressure, willing to work on time and produce quality work according to deadline

-       Able to perform multi-tasking as well as additional duties

-       Fluent in English/Mandarin. Knowledge in French/Japanese/Korean and other Asian/foreign languages would be an advantage.
