Job description:

AstraZeneca is looking for SAS Business Analyst with Clinical Studies Domain experience to join the entimICE Global Support team.

Additionally, the engineer will also be working on configuration changes/new configuration development. Candidates for this position should have strong BA/data analysis knowledge.

This Business Analyst role may also be part of the DevOps Platform team for AZ entimICE application.

Key responsibilities:

• Serve as an internal consultant and entimICE expert for IT and business partners across regions and business areas.
• Facilitate business requirement gathering and design activities with business & IT stakeholders as part of a scrum team in a scrum master capacity.
• Responsible for overall ownership for the quality and effectiveness of releases within the Analysis and Reporting Platform
• Design and build extensions for entimICE to accommodate custom business flows.
• Work with consumers and business users to understand data requirements, translating complex, unstructured needs into clear, creative and pragmatic data designs and solutions that enable us to quickly unlock value in the A&R platform.
• Generate and implement ideas to simplify/streamline our integration landscape in alignment with integration design and patterns.
• Raise the quality and business impact of data analysis through development and roll-out of best practice, provision of training and coaching, and understanding external innovations and application to AZ
• Manage/Update JIRA Board during the lifecycle of an implementation focusing on requirements gathering, configuration, validation/testing, training, and go-live activities during releases.
• Work with vendor on requirements, issues related to the platform, Security Set-up and Functional Configuration.
• Drive small modules in support transitions and ensure application stability when taking over BAU support of new applications.

Required skills:

• 3+ years’ experience in a data analyst or business role aligned to data and information management with practical examples of performing data analysis and influencing solutions, in terms of defining requirements, gleaning critical data elements, defining data quality criteria and checkpoints.
• Solid understanding of SAS Programming/Administration concepts.
• Life Sciences / Clinical data understanding: the structure, provenance and meaning of the source data crucial to the domain. Understanding of the business processes in the generation and consumption of data
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux to write shell scripts to help understand the access/security requirements to be enabled via Linux hosts and network storages within the Platform.
• Knowledge of Clinical Trial processes across pharmaceuticals/biotechnology specifically as they relate to clinical studies.
• Degree in Engineering/Life Sciences.

Desired skills:

• Knowledge and experience in analysis and reporting within the pharmaceutical industry, its relevant business processes, clinical trial information, regulations, and guidelines impacting the drug development process
• Experience working with JIRA, Service Now and Automated Testing tools
• Certification in Business Analysis preferred
• Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM and SAFe
