JOB DESCRIPTION

As a .NET Developer is a key role involved in design, development, coding, customization, configuration, testing, and deployment in support of enterprise packaged solutions.

The .NET Developer will build .Net applications comprising Microsoft Technologies such as ASP.Net, MVC, WPF, WCF and relative client scripting languages. Should be capable of handling many aspects of the .Net applications (performance, scalability, security, and testing) and work alongside multiple development teams to oversee design and development in a variety of projects.

• Architect, design, develop, test, deploy and support desktop, web, and mobile applications on-premise and in the cloud.
• Gather business requirements and develop related software applications and programs.
• Research and evaluate software related technologies and products.
• Design and develop testing and maintenance procedures and activities.
• Develop and write high-quality coding that meets customer requirements.
• Create software documentation and update existing documentation.
• Provide production support for incidents and problems coming through the ticketing system
• Implement best practices, standards and procedures including quality and delivery methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with the documented software processes and procedures throughout the life cycle of software products.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues Motivation to meet tight deadlines and to perform individually whilst working as part of global team.
• Ability to clearly articulate and demonstrate value proposition to customers through consulting services engagements.
• Ability to absorb technical information and communicate this clearly to a varied audience.
• Ensure that applications are monitored and consistently deliver a high level of availability and performance.
• Pro-actively identify and report improvements to services within the business capability application portfolio.

MANDATORY SKILLS: What are skills/technology candidate needs to have, to perform the role

• Technical Degree
• 5 to 7 years of IT experience in Application Development on .Net Technologies
• 3+ years of hands-on working experience of Model View Controller (MVC) 4.0 or greater
• 3+ years of Web application development experience working with ASP.NET Web Forms, MVC, WebAPI or WPF, HTML5, jQuery, and CSS3
• Experience and profound knowledge on AD tools Visual Studio 2008 to 2017, Toad, MS SQL Management Studio, Jenkins, JIRA, Bitbucket, GIT, TFS, etc.
• SQL proficient can handle: complex, nested, and, recursive queries, and understands the terminology
• Investigate and develop skills in new technologies
• Create technical specifications and test plans
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Accountable for Quality of Estimation and Coding coming out of the GTC Enabling Units IT teams
• Accountable for managing incremental, lifecycle or improvement driven changes e.g. re-platforming, up-versioning, migration to externally hosted solutions
• Knows Languages – PowerShell, C#, ASP.net MVC, and scripting

Desired skills:

• Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. Model-View-Controller (MVC))
• Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)
• Familiarity in design patterns, SDLC methodologies (Classic, Agile methodologies, etc.)
• Designing and implementing n-tier solutions
• Ensures following IT Service Delivery Framework and Adaptive Delivery Framework is adhered on AD activities.
• Responsible for completing the Application Life Cycle plans for individual applications, which incorporate all attributes of the technology stack, to the required level of detail.
• Has primary responsibility for maintaining and updating all documentation associated with the Application Development throughout its lifecycle.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work meets deadlines, and work independently.
• Experience in Power Shell scripting for Automation of deployment and other custom activities
• Stays abreast of the development in the area of professional competence.
• MCTS - Application development (optional)
• AGILE / Scrum Certified.
