This position can be done remotely, and supports our US Tewksbury, Massachusetts Plant, Globally, this position has intracompany partnerships with Germany and China.
How you will make an impact:
This position is part of a Global Trade Compliance team that is responsible to lead, develop, implement, and coordinate the maintenance of internal import/export processes and controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with U.S. Government import/export regulations.
You will work with freight forwarders, US Customs officers, customs brokers, internal and external customers on all matters pertaining to customs and import and export regulations.
In addition, the candidate will be responsible for implementing duty savings programs as relevant, i.e. Duty Drawback, Free Trade Agreements, 301 exceptions, as well as providing GTC guidance for new product introductions.
What you will do:
- Exercise independent judgment in assessing procedural weaknesses and develop new scalable procedures and tools to maintain compliance, and assist in executing international business strategy.
- Conduct trade and export regulatory compliance audits to understand whether policies, procedures, and applicable regulations and standards are appropriately implemented.
- Negotiate export/import control issues with internal and external customers and resolve issues in a win/win manner with mentorship from TFS Global Trade Compliance teams.
- Work with Business, Corporate, Division and Global business units to proactively develop and execute savings strategies, including Duty Drawback
- Manage and maintain reports and metrics pertaining to various elements of import/export process, and report out on trends, areas of concern and improvement opportunities.
- Identify training needs, develop and provide training pertaining to import/export requirements.

How you will get here:
Education
B.S. /B.A. or equivalent combination of education and experience required; preferably a concentration in international business.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Five years overall experience with Import and Export functions, ideally in a manufacturing and distribution environment
- Analytical and critical thinking abilities to make timely decisions while functioning in a fast paced changing work environment.
- Excellent customer service, tactical leadership, and project planning skills.
- Customs Brokerage License a plus
