This is a R&D Senior Engineer, reporting to Product Group Leader in Business Area Electrification located at Xiamen, China. As the main responsibility, you will be in charge of or will participate in the R&D project operation and product design according to the customer’s needs and new technology development trend.

Your responsibilities

• Managing R&D projects according to ABB project management process.
• Leading or participating DC switchgear R&D work according to project requirement, including mechanical components and electrical components’ design and preparing related project document.
• Leading or conducting related analysis and simulation during product development, experiences of quality tools (such as DFM/A, FMEA, six-sigma) and simulations.
• Guiding or participating prototype manufacturing and type tests.
• Being responsible for problem analysis and solving of product technical related issues, providing technical support.
• Cooperating with other departments and other TCs and LBU/GPGs in order to finish project on time and target.

Your background

• Must have a bachelor’s degree or above, major in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years’ R&D or engineering experience in products applied in DC traction power supply system. More than 2 years R&D Project Management experience.
• Should be aware about DC traction power supply system knowledge and relevant IEC/GB/EN standards, MS office tools, SolidWorks, Auto-CAD and other related.
• Familiar with manufacturing processes of various parts, with product of DC traction power system application is desired.
• Should be good in oral and written English, with good communication and presentation skills.
• Must have good teamwork spirit and be able to adapt to cross-cultural working environment and take responsibility and pressure.
