Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, manage systems, processes, and interfaces between the Plant Control and Steering (PCS) control room, shop control rooms and other MBUSI partners, systems, and users.
Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Maintain and control various production control systems - Production Control systems includes plant systems like PLUS, MRS, WMS, block case database, CISM and others:
Ensure cross department cooperation and communication between shops
Examine current Production Control systems and plant systems
Collaborate with users to gather requirements for new systems, system upgrades, and modifications to existing functions.
Produce specifications for new or modified systems based on current projects and needs
Liaise with other IT staff such as programmers to provide requirements for new systems.
Work with IT to implement new systems in PCS – coordinate training and rollout along with change loops if necessary.
Benchmark best practices between plants
Act as the major incident manager for control system downtime by Facilitating communication between multiple departments and organizing emergency meetings and escalations for major events or disruptions to production.
Work with Series Planning, Capacity Management, and scheduling to add/remove restrictions for body/assembly shops. Implement restrictions using PLUS in the control room and work with shops if deviation from the restrictions are required.
Act as the “Pearl Chain” subject-matter expert by developing and rolling out Pearl Chain training to various teams and training forums. Use understanding of Pearl Chain to participate in various cross department discussions for continuous improvement of processes and applications and onboarding on new suppliers and processes.
Train users and develop support documentation on new or updated systems used within PCS.
Identify problems within a business through participation in crossfunctional meetings with process partners, evaluation of data modelling, testing phases, etc.
Communicate with other departments to determine training requirements for PCS based on new processes, plant layouts, system changes, etc.
Make recommendations for businesses to improve based on previous research and benchmarking of best practices of control room functions, system usage, steering concepts, communication between process partners, etc.
Communicate the benefits of new technologies and/or strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
Oversee the implementation of new technology and systems
Organize and facilitate workshops as needed for troubleshooting, system improvements/changes, cross department and cross plant cooperation as well as for new system launches. Ensure supporting information for training is properly documented.

Support other areas regarding Operational plan, broadcast system, and operational calendar.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field and/or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Logistics or managing processes/projects in Operations; preferably with an automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or supplier and with an emphasis on launch/changeovers or production control activities.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint etc.)
Strong planning, organizational and analytical skills
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Problem solving skills
