Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, this position is responsible for buy-off and approval of all technical conservation parameters and equipment modifications of the conservation equipment (i.e. hardening oven and oiling facility including periphery) at the Consolidation Center USA.


Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Manage and audit the third party conservation equipment operator to ensure the quality and smooth operation of the conservation equipment.
Review new product design, and define and buy off all conservation parameters for new parts including the initiation, management and auditing of trial and measurement runs.
Check conservation equipment capacities. Initiate, coordinate, implement, and buy-off capacity adjustments in alignment with the central planning department.
Perform budget planning and tracking for all conservation equipment related expenditures.
Review and approve the modification, maintenance and service requests for conservation equipment including final buy- off of the performed work.
Specify and define consumables for the conservation equipment.
Compile and conduct training for the conservation equipment operator and/or logistics service provider regarding requirements and use of the conservation equipment and the production control system (PLP).
Work in close cooperation with the manager of the logistics service provider and all other related functions to ensure an overall smooth operation within the Consolidation Center USA.

Perform other related projects/duties as required or requested by management.
Travel internationally as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
 
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial environment in the automotive or metal processing industry
 
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Good knowledge of conservation/oiling processes, surface conditioning and metal treatment processes
Working knowledge of logistics processes
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of SAP
