Purpose of the Position:
Under general supervision, this position works within the QVS Electrical Electronics Team for Assist and Camera control units (CUs) and systems. This position interfaces between MBUSI, Research & Development (Germany) and suppliers to support the series carlines and ramp up production of upcoming carlines while ensuring supplier readiness and part quality regarding the project milestones, change management, packaging, and problem analysis.
Essential Functions: (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Act as the subject matter expert and business partner between Development and Quality Engineering for all aspects of a product.
Consult with all internal departments and component suppliers regarding development related topics for problem resolutions.
Support product change management activities (e.g production trials, knowledge transfer ) and suppliers for implementation for product and quality changes. Check the related parts documentation and release in the Dialog system.
Maintain regular communication with relevant development departments in Sindelfingen and other foreign plants as necessary.
Support Quality Operations and Service & Parts departments by investigating malfunction of the car and the related systems and parts. Develop sustainable solutions for malfunctions.
Examine, measure, inspect, and/or test defective part(s) for conformance to engineering design drawings or blueprint specifications using precision measuring and testing instruments, devices, and equipment.
Analyze specific developmental issues and establish long- and short-term countermeasures in alignment with relevant teams and departments. Lead cross-functional problem solving activities for these issues.
Assist production in implementing adopted countermeasures (long- and short-term) to ensure production capability during Production Trial (PT) and series phase, when necessary.
Initiate product planning changes and approve product deviation requests to support product quality.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the area of development, design, and/or quality engineering in an automotive manufacturing environment.
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project)
Ability to use PC-based data processing tools
Experience in using Electronic diagnostic tools such as VECTOR, Monaco, Flash Tools, Logger Tools)
Working knowledge of car communication networks such as CAN, LIN, FLEXRAY
Preferred Skills:
Experience in automotive electrical electronics (hardware and software, functional testing and analysis)
Knowledge of Daimler documentation and issue tracking systems (SMARAGD, DIALOG, ACM, ZEUS, SAP, etc.)
Knowledge of electrical car technology and functions, preferably with Mercedes-Benz vehicles
German language skills
Experience in production, new product launch methods, and/or supplier management
