Purpose of the Position: Under general supervision, gathers Supply Chain cost data and conducts analysis with the goal of improving the organization's supply chain operations. Identifies underperforming areas in the supply chain and recommends improvements to boost performance and reduce costs. Develops sustainable processes, provides transparency, generates executive reports and may assist in the negotiation of supplier contracts or service arrangements.

 
 
Essential Functions:  (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Engage in cross-departmental activities to obtain Supply Chain cost related information for analysis, reporting and target achievement. Work with Supply Chain teams to establish continuous improvement / countermeasure activities to address operational deficiencies where financial targets have not been met.
Prepare, maintain and present daily, weekly and monthly reporting packages related to Supply Chain cost drivers by showing trends of data collected and analyzed.
Review, analyze and validate transportation related Supply Chain costs which includes: Full Truck Load routes, less than truckload (LTL) invoicing (UPS, FedEx), ocean carrier, air freight, inland rail and container free time tracking. Participate and assist in the negotiation of new contracts or service agreements.
Monitor all expedited shipping activities from authorization to service provider payment. Generate weekly and monthly reports to provide transparency and ensure that budgets are met.
Track all supplier and part obsolescence and initiate proactive measures to minimize costs. Document all obsolete parts and work with the causer to develop and implement sustainable countermeasures. Support part disposition if necessary and develop cross-departmental procedures to proactively reduce the impact of obsolete material.
Manage the daily processing of all Supply Chain chargeback claims through the chargeback database. Ensure the accuracy and validity of reported claims to ensure terms of all chargeback contracts are met.  Troubleshoot and resolve all disputes pertaining to chargebacks and provide appropriate documentation to assist in the collection. Interface with internal teams and suppliers if necessary on relevant chargeback issues.
Lead and coordinate special department wide projects/ initiatives by preparing and presenting operational plans.

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
 
Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience   
     
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in Logistics in the automotive industry or a minimum of 3 years of experience in Project Management with emphasis on launch/changeover activities
 
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:  
Working knowledge of data mining, data organization, data scrubbing and data management
Advanced knowledge of SAP as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
 
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of Supply Chain processes and concepts
Knowledge of automotive manufacturing industry with a focus on Supply Chain Management
German language skills
