Purpose of the Position: Responsible for supporting Mercedes-Benz US International financial system data administration, controls and processes. Provide support, integration and lead projects and initiatives. Coordinate with all functional areas within Finance to assure that technology related needs have been adequately addressed. Coordinate with cbFC NAFTA Hub and Central IT for development, interfacing, database, and networking support. Support other Finance processes including but not limited to processing payments and purchase accounting.

 
 
Essential Functions:  (List all basic responsibilities related to the purpose of the position)
Act as the cbFC Coordinator for level 1 system support according to the cbFC support model (using incident tickets, request or process and system changes (Demands), and Release Management and project functions).
Serve as the point of contact regarding organizational topics have a coordination function regarding level 1 tasks.
Monitor system issues for the local company (MBUSI).
Coordinate with, provide feedback to, and respond to colleagues concerning issues handled by 2nd and 3rd level support.
Plan the user-oriented implementation of process/technical changes together with the support organization including training.
Define priorities for local change requests (Demands).
Plan and coordinate the implementation of new cbFC template functionality.
Support business partners and colleagues in project planning and coordination.
Coordinate of level 1 tasks according to support model.
Communicate and coordinate business changes, requirements and projects between the cbFC NAFTA HUB and MBUSI Management.
Work closely together with the key users, local management, as well as the cbFC NAFTA Hub to develop and implement business operations and projects.
Improve efficiency through the research of finance processes that have been identified as needing evaluation, and recommend automated solutions.
Apply a continuous improvement approach to all work processes.
Process weekly and monthly payments in a high quality and timely manner.
Monitor and clear errors from various interfaces related to purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Perform other related projects and duties as required/requested.

Financial authority and responsibility:

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.
 
Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience in Accounting with 2 years of comprehensive professional experience in designing methods, processes and systems for accounting and controlling processes and company processes relevant to internal control.
 
Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: 
Strong background working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Excellent communication (written and verbal), planning, organization, and administrative skills
Working knowledge of accounting principles
Ability to engage in critical thinking, analysis and problem solving
Solution-orientated, proactive, responsive and resourceful
Ability to define and solve practical problems and create accurate, validated reporting for business decision making
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in time-sensitive situations with a keen attention to detail
Self-starter with exceptional ability to identify and solve problems
Good knowledge of the relevant accounting provisions (particularly US GAAP and IFRS) and the ICS framework
