2608 PYP Homeroom Teacher

Position Overview: A well-known K-12 school in Changsha are looking for a Primary Homeroom Teacher in August 2026. The applicants must have an enthusiasm and passion for working with students. The position will commence in August 2026, where the initial contract will be for a period of two years, and the contract is renewable. This position will teach Grade 2 or 3.


Job Responsibilities:
- Teachers provide a guided inquiry-based approach to learning using the International Baccalaureate’s Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework of five essential elements: knowledge, concepts, skills, attitudes, and action. Six Subject Areas: Language, Social Studies, Arts, Mathematics, Science, PSPE.
- Student Management, Parent Communication, Curriculum Monitoring, Activity Participation, Behaviour Management, Academic Monitoring, Parent Conferences, Teamwork, Intercultural Communication, Cultural Adaptation

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above
- More than 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Candidates must be fully qualified for primary homeroom teachers with excellent classroom practices and a love of teaching
- Excellent communication skills with students
- Teach students in a way that enables them to achieve high standards of learning
- Contribute towards the provision of a dynamic, creative international learning environment
- Actively participate in the development of the school
- Work cooperatively and supportively with all members of staff

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: RMB 20,000 – 25,000 per month (after tax), depending on qualifications and experience.
- Housing Allowance: RMB 3,000 per month (sufficient to rent a fully furnished 2–3 bedroom apartment of around 100m^2 near the school).
- Paid Holidays: Full salary during all school breaks, including summer, winter, and Christmas holidays (approx. 2.5 months).
