Office: Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service

Pay: HK$32,675 - HK$52,578 (HGPS Point 15 – 25) per month (including Monthly Allowance)(see Remarks 1)

Job:

1. Perform Health Screening to assess the eligibility of blood donors and provide counseling for deferred donors.

2. Perform venipuncture on blood donors for whole blood donation.

3. Provide post donation care to blood donors.

4. Recruit and retain donors.

5. Work under the integrated quality management and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) System in Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service.

Entry Requirements:

1. A Certificate of Registration (Part I) and a valid Practising Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.

2. Fluent Cantonese.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure:

1. Have at least 3 years of post-graduate work experience.

2. Has experience in venepuncture.

3. Fluent in spoken and written Chinese and English.

Remarks:

For Serving HA staff :

1. The offer of salary and allowance (Cash Allowance, Fixed-flexi Allowance or Monthly Allowance) for serving employees upon changes in appointment will be made in accordance with prevailing policies.

For External Applicants :

2. Appointment on contract full-time terms will be for an initial period of 6 years. Up to 15% of total basic salary as end-of-contract gratuity (after deducting the contribution of Mandatory Provident Fund by Hospital Authority) may be offered at the end of each 3 year subject to satisfactory performance.

3. Retiring / retired HA staff who wish to continue working for HA after their normal retirement may also apply. If selected, the terms and conditions of employment will be offered in accordance with prevailing policies of the Retired and Rehire Mechanism of HA.

4. Required to work shifts or perform on-call duties.

5. Required to wear uniform.

6. Free uniform and laundry provided.

7. Free overnight accommodation provided for shift duties.

8. May be required to work in another work location to meet service needs of the HA.
