Job Description
We are seeking a Business Development Manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a international architecture firms. The position will be based in New York and report directly to the principal partners and the Beijing headquarter. The ideal candidate should have experience securing cultural and commercial projects, be extremely professional, and possess strong communication skills.
Applicants must demonstrate the following qualities:
M.Arch. preferred
10 years + experience with residential and commercial high-rises in major international architecture firms, design office is highly preferred
In-depth knowledge of the North American real estate industry and architecture field;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Able to establishing and maintaining connections;
Experience working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Mail/Outlook;
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite;
A positive attitude towards obstacles and tight deadlines, out-going, strong communicator and able to take priorities and handle multi-tasks when he/she is required to do so.
Strong self-disciplined and strongly motivated.
Understand MAD’s design philosophy

Main job tasks and responsibilities:
Establish strong relationships with new connections, potential clients;
Develop and maintain MAD’s BD database
Conduct market research to identify design trends and potential clients
Prepare fee/service proposals for potential projects, carry on further negotiation till contract signed and payment received;
Represent the office or the partners at events and conferences;
Prepare quarterly marketing and business development plan for review and discussion with partners
Source, identify, and develop new business, commissions, and projects;
This position requires regular travel, with monthly trips to visit potential clients and semi-annual trips to visit the office in Beijing.
