This is a Business Development Manager role reporting to the Local Product Group Manager in the Business Area - Process Automation located in Shanghai in China. You will perform various end user market analyses while focusing on land based application including but not limited on Electronic programming guides (EPGs) and onshore oil & gas market, to enable local service business strategy development in alignment with Division/Local Division strategy, support local division and local service business team on defining & implementing service sales strategies to generate sustainable & profitable business growth on existing, developing markets , or other areas not currently defined. You will also be responsible to establish sound market intelligence systems and market information sharing platform based on market studies through various channels and using different internal & external resource focusing on end user market, particularly on land-based market.
Your responsibilities
- Contributing to local division/Local Service Business strategy definition and execution through the analysis and identification of existing and new markets, segments and/or service product solutions. Analyzing customer needs for the portfolio, securing customer advantages and benefits as well as white spot analysis and connected strategies to penetrate the market. Developing and implementing business strategies for land-based application in alignment with the Division, Product Group and Local Division strategy.
- Monitoring/evaluating market trends and recommend adjustments for the strategy and plans accordingly to meet changing market and competitive landscapes. Providing appropriate market information for long- to mid-term decision making, Providing market intelligence analyses in support of identification and development of new markets, segments or solutions.
- Collecting data and providing sound market and competitive intelligence analyses related to market and trends, contributing to local service network footprint plans and supports relevant implementation. Building up service business analyses on land-based application, extracting and analyzing data from sales/financial tools to measure effectiveness of sales activities/initiatives and providing updates that identify existing gaps or new opportunities for growth.
- Understanding land-based end user value proposition by communication with sales and customers, supporting local End User Sales to have an effective perception in the target market.
- Actively participating and contributing to Division/PG/Local Division projects (BP224, local EPG Market Study, etc.). Regularly updating service business market report on assigned segment. Supporting on Business Review Meeting report (Division/PG/Local Division/Local Product Group) as well as report for Board meeting.
- Completing BP224 project in 2021 with active participation in the project and good contribution to the project in cooperation with project team. Being responsible for achieving financial targets in assigned land-based market segment and/or in the specified area subject to further decision.
- Developing/maintaining sound market intelligence systems based on market studies through various channels and using different internal & external resource focusing on end user market. Being familiar with Division Service Product Portfolio, providing necessary support / training to improve end user sales know-how on service products portfolio. Working in collaboration with Division BD and Local Division BD(Marine), support service sales manager to develop specific service offering and creating end user acceptance. Supporting business development on digitalization solution.
- Interfacing to the Division/PG for land based related BD issues, acting as key local team member of BP224 project to coordinate local project resource on project plan follow up and project inputs from China, supporting to market communication team as necessary.

Your background
- Bachelor or above, majoring in Mechanical engineering and / or Marketing, background in marine, oil & gas industry is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in Market Intelligence, Market Researcher, Marketing or related function positions.
- Knowledge on Engines (or Turbocharger), and /or Compressor or other fluid controlling equipment, or other related products.
- Analysis skills and strong strategic / innovative thinking, Project management, good planning and organization skills, reporting skills preferred.
- Good communicator and team player. Fluent in oral and written English.
- Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
