Eaton Corporation’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is seeking a 3D Product Design Engineer. This is a position that can be based in either Syracuse, NY or Highland, IL. Position Overview: The position will be responsible for supporting the implementation and management of the division’s Ruff-In product line’s software systems. The incumbent will lead projects and oversee the project quotation and quality control processes throughout the life cycle of the projects. This role will provide the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other business areas including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service and Operations. In this function you will: Provide engineering design for the layout of residential unit wiring devices, utilizing established Ruff-in Revit template. Create installation and production documents. Prepare, maintain, meet, and manage overall project schedules Work with internal and external organizations to develop specific product designs per project plan. Develop conceptual and end product BIM content and capability with input from customers and end users Produce 3D drawings for the Ruff-in platform of products. Act as a technical interface for prospective customers concerning their needs; interprets and develops Eaton-based solutions to meet those needs. Present product capabilities and performance to prospective and existing customers. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of one internship/co-op experience in an Electrical Engineering position Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without Company sponsorship now and in the future Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering preferred Prior work experience in the design of commercial buildings Prior experience using engineering database systems (e.g. Enovia) Position Criteria: Strong knowledge of the Revit software platform, including family creation Knowledge of AutoCAD 3D, Solidworks and/or Inventor Ability to work independently under general supervision Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Excel Detail-oriented We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
