The opportunity:
The Network Engineer is a pivotal member of the team who will contribute to the successful enablement of the AIA ANZ enterprise-wide IT strategy, vision and roadmap.
You’ll be an experienced Network Engineer where you’ll design, configure and implement network solutions. You’ll also support complex projects initiated by local and Group Technology teams and will also be responsible for implementing changes, as well as maintaining, supporting and improving the network infrastructure of AIA Australia & New Zealand.
As a Network Engineer, you’ll be able to provide technical leadership, exercise industry best practices and re-engineering of existing processes and/or the establishment of new processes to enhance the current environment.
About the role:
Core Network Infrastructure Responsibilities (Projects & BAU)
Design, configure and implement network solutions, working together with external vendors
Maintain availability and stability of network infrastructure including Routers, Switches, Video Conferencing, Wi-Fi devices etc.
Support Cisco Telephony platform working closely with 3rd party service provider to ensure availability and stability of all call centres and call queues
Analyse, develop and implement improvements/optimisation to existing network infrastructure
Perform monitoring of network, configure appropriate alerting and create network reports
Review and raise firewall and proxy changes based on business requirements
Compliance
Work with technology risk/local risk teams to perform maintenance and patching of existing enterprise network infrastructure vulnerabilities
Perform regular audits to ensure license compliance and maintenance contract renewals for network & telephony platforms
Documentation and Reporting
Generate and maintain knowledge base and technical documentation on network infrastructure and projects
Ensure network inventory and licensing information is valid and up to date
About you:
5+ years of network engineering experience with strong enterprise routing, switching and troubleshooting skills
Strong technical understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, server environments, virtualization, proxies, cloud services, telephony services, LAN and WAN technology, network design concepts, network security concepts
Proven experience with routing protocols such as EIGRP, BGP
Experience in managing and administering networks across LAN and WAN
Cisco IP Telephony and Unified Communications experience (Cisco Call Manager, UCCE, Unity Connection, Workforce Optimization)
Experience with network monitoring, alerting and reporting tools
Experience in dealing with and mitigating high-severity network incidents
Experience working on and delivery of technology enabled projects
Experience in Disaster Recovery process, planning and testing
Have worked in a corporate / enterprise environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written
Solid understanding of business needs and customer focus beyond technical/technology aspects
Experience coordinating vendor tasks & priorities in a managed service environment
Able to provide after-hours support as required
