Responsible for directing the Finance Workstream team towards achieving the deliverables, resolving risks and issues in a timely and relevant manner, and providing technical Finance insight and support to comply with new accounting standards, IFRS 17 and 9.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(1) Oversee the Finance Workstream team.

(2) Lead Finance team in providing support to Technical Actuarial Workstream for the financial impact assessment and analysis, including IFRS 17 slides for the Strategic Planning.

(3) Lead in the completion of the full IFRS 17 Strategic Plan.

(4) Support the Actuarial Technical Workstream in the localization of the OPAT Methodological Specifications (MS) Review and approve documents required for local system enhancements to meet IFRS 17 data requirements.

(5) Review and approve recommendations for simplifications of IFRS 17 Finance-related processes prior to submission to the Materiality Working Group (MWG) for their approval.

(6) Co-lead the end-to-end UAT with the EWS Actuarial Lead.

(7) Co-lead the delivery of IFRS 17 and 9 Technical and Systems trainings to BAU teams, with the Actuarial Leads.

(8) Provide IFRS 17 and 9 Finance trainings for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

(9) Lead the other change management activities for Finance Division.

(10) Secure BIR approval of the new and changed systems due to IFRS 17 and 9.

(11) Manage IFRS 9 components including testing and analysis Lead the IFRS 17 Financial Reporting team during parallel run.

(12) Recommend and develop new / enhance existing local management reports considering changes due to IFRS 14 and 9.

(13) Collaborate with PMO in identifying and tailoring lobbying approach to support the GO strategy (14) Ensure the proper auditable documentation, accurate and timely delivery of the workstream’s requirements

(15) Evaluate issues and risks and coordinate with the Program Manager for appropriate resolution / escalation

(16) Provide regular and timely update of status of deliverables in the Workstream Leads and SteerCo meetings Perform other responsibilities and duties as may be assigned by the Program Manager in order to meet other project requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education – Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree holder
  • Experience – with at least 7 years relevant experience in Financial Reporting, and in Financial Statements preparation with at least 3 years in supervisory level, with any of the top 10 life insurance companies
  • Work experience with a reputable audit firm a plus
  • Certifications/licenses – Certified Public Accountant
  • Special skills - Has thorough knowledge and exposure in IFRS and PFRS especially insurance accounting and reporting standards; knowledgeable in internal control practices; proficient in MS Office applications; has advanced knowledge in SAP, Business Intelligence, with good command in English (both oral and written)
