The Role
We are a UK headquartered fast-paced international Company, looking for an HR Generalist for our German operations. You will work closely with the HR Business Partner for Germany and the Associate HR Business Partner, to support the local management team, as well as functional leaders based outside of Germany. We have approximately 200 employees in Germany, with offices in Stuttgart, Munich and Leipzig, but due to the current pandemic, the majority continue to work from home, although the ability to travel to these locations from time to time, could be desirable in the future.
We are looking for a hands-on HR Generalist who can support the HR Business Partner with their own responsibilities and projects, advising the (local) managers and working with the three German works councils. The role can be home-based anywhere in Germany, even post Covid. This role works with an Associate HR Business Partner for Germany and an Office Manager based in Stuttgart. Duties will require building relationships with various corporate functions outside of Germany, such as IT and Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advising and supporting managers (who may be located outside Germany), employees and other departments within the company on all HR matters.
* Execute HR processes and policies based on knowledge of German labour law and local practices.
* Ensure that our HR activities are compliant with legal obligations.
* Coordinating and providing input into the monthly payroll process with our external provider.
* Offer an "open door" and consult with employees on work related issues with kindness, empathy and professionalism.
* Maintain HRIS and other systems to maintain data integrity.
* Support other ad-hoc projects in Germany and including those related to payroll and HRIS.
Requirements:
* Clear communicator in written and spoken English and German
* Several years of professional experience in the field of human resources
* Demonstrable experience of HR generalist work in Germany
* Hands on experience of owning employee relations cases including termination processes, capability and performance and disciplinary cases.
* Strong customer service skills – all employees and managers are our customers
* Friendly, approachable and empathetic with good listening skills and ability to be a trusted advisor to managers.
* Team player able to build strong relationships across boundaries.
* Good attention to detail and ability to check the work of others.
