This business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. Our Solutions include Proclaim (TM) XR SCS System, the #1 Spinal cord stimulator on the market, Proclaim (TM) DRG Neurostimulator, the only FDA approved DRG therapy and a market leader in radiofrequency ablation therapy, Abbott RFA. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum. Our deep brain stimulation technology for progressive diseases help people manage their Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor symptoms, steering away from side effects.

Our location in Plano currently has an opportunity for a Senior Program Manager to manage various types of Gross Margin projects, where leadership and medical device development initiatives will significantly improve productivity and cost structures within the Neuromodulation business.   The Sr. Program Manager will lead/manage programs of small to medium scope, or a significant subsection of a large program, and work cross-functionally with core team and functional managers to ensure that projects meet objectives and timelines. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Lead activities across numerous functions to meet the objectives of a given program including scope, budget, risk management, and schedule. Lead core teams towards program objectives. Communicate with all levels of the organization and project team,  in order to represent the objectives, risks, and program objectives.

  • Develop comprehensive program plans, which identify items such as: project objectives, strategy, risks/risk mitigation, budget, assumptions & constraints, cost/benefit, and change management activities.  .

  • Identify opportunities for improving overall business performance of the program.

  • Collaborate with project team members and functional area leadership to identify, eliminate and/or mitigate risk.  If risks cannot be mitigated within the core team, determine appropriate means to communicate and elevate issues to appropriate individuals within the organization.

  • In partnership with the GM Sr Manager, identify opportunities for improving overall performance and/or efficiencies of the GMI program.

  • Provide guidance to core team (and peer GMI Project Managers) to assist in resolving conflicts and clearing barriers to maintain effective and timely progress towards project completion. Resolve conflicts within and outside the team.

  • Facilitate team meetings in partnership with project team members/leaders. Issue agendas and minutes. Track progress against the project plan, business plan, project contract, and action items (when applicable).

  • Provide project updates and communication to team members, cross-functional partners and Senior Leadership.

  • Overall accountability for program planning & execution.

  • Report team progress and recommendations and resolution at senior staff meetings.

  • Provide leadership to the team by working to define clear, realistic goals. Leads by example with excellent diligence, planning, analysis, and communication.

  • Ensure that the cross functional members work as a “team” focused on divisional goals.

  • Provide guidance to core team members on management techniques.

  • Identify and help clear barriers to maintain effective and timely progress, reduce risk, and implement change-management actions when needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience in engineering, operations, project management, quality, or related regulated industry discipline.

  • Proven ability to manage to plan and resolve issues. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Effective communication skills, business problem solving, ability to lead change in an organization and ability to conduct strategic analysis are key skills for this position.

  • Excellent reputation for building relationships across various levels of an organization with a focus on cross-functional teams.

  • Project management tools including MS Project, Excel, and Power Point.

Preferred

  • MBA or other related advanced degree is preferred.

  • Medical device development experience is highly desirable.

  • PMP Certification from the Project Management Institute is preferred.

  • Previous experience managing development teams and/or programs in the medical device industry is preferred

  • Experience with Class 3 medical devices.

  •  Strong knowledge of quality systems and change management in a regulated environment
