Job Description
Job Summary The primary responsibility of this position is the design of high-quality Power distribution electrical Transformers products at minimum cost while meeting or exceeding internal and external customer requirements and expectations. Provides support to other functional areas within the company. Job Responsibilities Create simple to medium complexity custom Transformers product designs in accordance with established practices by industry and company standards. Create detailed layouts, bills of material, detail/assembly and customer approval drawings, collaborating with Marketing and CSC as needed to accomplish customer satisfaction Mentor/train less experienced ETO engineers. Responsible to maintain Product Definition Data (PDD) and execute engineering changes via formal Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process. Review Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and/or Change/Hold/Cancellation Requests (CHCs). Reviews and Interprets Design Specs to establish customer requirements. Provide respond for basic technical support to Marketing regarding sales inquiries, customer problems, equipment application and engineering analysis. Responsible to interpret design datasheet from Transformer Design System for BOM implementation and analysis. Provide technical support to and maintain liaison with Scheduling, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, Quality Assurance, and Operations regarding issues with custom designs. The technical support includes response to ECR and deviation evaluation. Identify and develop enhancement request for design automation tools (TDS, KBE) supervising timely implementation. Develops and lead root cause analysis and resolution of internal and external customer complaints and material non-conformance issues using 8D methodology. Support projects using formal methodology to improve product and process quality and cost. Responsible to properly apply established design rules and practices in the organization for transformers products. #LI-AR7 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or related. Years and area of experience required: 1+ years of design experience with electromechanical systems. Experience with custom engineering design and processes Demonstrated proficiency of industry recognized drafting and CAD standards, practices and procedures. Experience with assembly creation on in 3D CAD system. Technical Knowledge: Proficient in creating, loading, maintaining, comparing, performing massive changes and storing engineering designs within an ERP system, preferably SAP. Familiarity with projects management methodologies, capable to support and implement small to medium projects.
