Job Description

Job Title:

As the Reservations Manager, you will display strong customer service, organizational, and administrative skills to ensure guest satisfaction and contribute to the success of the hotel.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage Reservations Department (scheduling, approving payroll, holidays, trainings, etc.)
  • Ensure the accuracy of commissions – processed weekly
  • Select, train, and evaluate the performance of reservation team members
  • Maintaining all pertinent systems and ensuring the reservations are being entered appropriately across all channels
  • Manage FIT Reservations and Group Blocks
  • Handle all guest interactions professionally and appropriately
  • Effectively communicate with other hotel departments, regional, and corporate teams
  • Be a champion of Sofitel Values and adhere to the highest standards of professionalism
  • Be a role model of world class luxury in personal appearance and behavior 
  • Ensure all calls are answered promptly within 3 rings using the specified greeting for the hotel
  • Survey, review, and analyze competition, market trends, customer needs, and comments in order to be proactive and adapt with business intelligence
  • Daily Pickup Report Creation
  • STR Data Entry
  • Miscellaneous Reporting/Tasks

 

Key Expectations:

 

  • Lead Reservations Team (Reservations Coordinator and Reservations Agents)
  • Responsible for all reservations/inquiries/requests via phone and email
  • Work as a team alongside Front Office, Sales, and Accounting to provide exceptional service to our guests
  • Quickly learn and understand the CRS and PMS systems (Opera, TARS)
  • Must be able to multitask in a high-volume environment
  • Ability to organize, delegate, and complete tasks quickly and efficiently is required

Your experience and skills include:

  • Must be fluent in English (speaking/reading/writing), proficiency in French a plus!
  • At least two years prior luxury hotel experience with a minimum of one-year experience in Reservations.
  • Working knowledge of the following: Property Management Systems (preferably Opera or TARS), Central Reservation Systems, Microsoft applications including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Candidate must be positive, motivated, kind, team player, well organized, efficient and informative
  • Quick learner
  • Punctual, enthusiastic, and detail oriented, thorough
  • Be able to work effectively in a collaborative office environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work as a contributing member of a team as well as independently
  • This position is Not Remote. 
  • The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining work authorization documents. 
  • Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Candidates will be required to show proof of being vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment per New York City Guidelines.
