Eaton’s B-Line Division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to join our Operational Excellence team. This position is based at our Highland, IL facility. Position Overview: This position will report to the Highland Plant Manager with responsibility for leading deployment of Continuous Improvement and industry 4.0 vision, strategy and initiatives across the plant, including metal fabrication and assembly processes. This role is a key member of the plant staff and ensures a plant culture of Continuous Improvement and Lean and deployment of industry 4.0 technology that is then leveraged to drive change including fulfilling leadership duties and providing input for plant strategy and direction. Job duties support the creation and implementation of initiatives and industry 4.0 technologies to lead improvements in areas such as operating margins, product delivery performance, employee safety and engagement and reductions in product/process variation. In this function you will: Works through the leadership team to lead the development and implementation of the site Lean and Six Sigma strategy, actions, and cross-functional activities including Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs). Conducts Eaton Lean System (ELS) assessments and identify performance gaps. Works through the leadership team to prioritize improvement activities and close gaps. Provides Lean and Six Sigma support across the organization to drive short-term and long-term business improvements. Utilizes Lean and Six Sigma tools to eliminate waste driving customer satisfaction, cost reduction, and improve employee involvement and engagement. Leads the continuous improvement (Lean and Six Sigma) team. Assists in improvement activities including training, mentoring, facilitating Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, tool deployment, benchmarking, etc. Integrate industry 4.0 technology in plant operations to identify waste and improve process efficiency. Provides site Lean, 6 Sigma and Industry 4.0 mentoring to support of functional talent development and succession planning Works with Regional/Divisional CI Manager to ensure alignment of plant CI activities to broader functional strategy and vision Responsible for the collection of data and reporting of the Balanced Score Card. Minimum of five (5) years of related experience including management of direct reports and manufacturing and operational processes The candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Highland, IL will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred Qualifications: Formal training/certification in Lean ( 5S, Standard work, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Setup Reduction (SUR), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Lean Material Flow (LMF) and 6 Sigma with at least 5 years of related experience. Experience in implementing Lean in high volume High mix type product environment Knowledge with Eaton Business System. Experience managing technical resources and sheet metal fabrication processes (flexible CNC equipment, stamping presses and dies, brake forming and powder paint lines) Position Criteria: Proven leadership capability with excellent communication skills. Ability to drive results by developing and empowering teams. Strong Six Sigma process improvement knowledge and experience. Proven experience in process development, implementation and sustainability. Strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools/methods (Six Sigma, 8D, etc.), goal setting, and performance tracking. Proficient knowledge of product assurance methods and quality systems .
