Job Description
Eaton’s Electrical – Power Components division is currently seeking a Engineering Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Haina facility. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Leads processes and resources related to product compliance. These include agency compliance processes, Laboratory installations and processes and Technical personnel. Supervises the daily activities and assignments of the MET LAB and Process Technician Design team. Performs engineering relate assignments often requiring development of new or improved products/process/techniques. Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering test/products/equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises the day-to-day activities of the MET LAB and Technician Design team. Reports status on design team assignments. Supports and supervises the engineering aspects of cost out activities. Contributes to successful project completion by participating in the resolution of issues such as conflict design requirements. Coordinates project activities with other operating or engineering units to facilitate participation of appropriate staff in project completion. Review project-related documentation to ensure its accuracy. Provide technical soundness of design decisions and product changes to facilitate manufacturing, reduce cost, substitute material, improve quality and accommodate special customer needs. Prevent and correct manufacturing issues that affect product function ability. Keep quality specification of existent products. Laboratory test according to the product. Responsible of project development for products improvement Responsible to generate reports according to the area. Coordinate with other departments to maximize the use of information, skills and resources. Use of PROLaunch on new product development and product line transfer. Comply with EQS, Lean and Pro-Launch procedures and policies Responsible for UL & CSA Standards compliance Manage and coordinates UL follow and Series testing and schedule Support NPI, VAVE and CS teams on MET on product validation testing Responsible for the effective communication with third party agencies Responsible for products and code or standard changes awareness. #LI-MG1 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: SB07 Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Electronic or Electromechanical Engineering, or similar careers. Minimum experience 3-5+ years in similar positions. Bilingual: English/Spanish. Computer knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with CAD tools – PROE, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent (and drawing interpretation skills), AS400 Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), Lean, 6 Sigma and ISO9001. Competencies: Drive for Results, demonstrates a collaborative style, Makes Decision/Solve Problems, Promotes and Champion changes, Pursues personal development. SB06 Bachelor degree in Industrial, Electronic or Electromechanical Engineering, or similar careers. Minimum experience 1 - 3 year in similar positions. Bilingual: English/Spanish. Computer knowledge: MS Office, Familiarity with CAD tools – PROE, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or equivalent (and drawing interpretation skills), AS400 Knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control), Lean, 6 Sigma and ISO9001.
