Eaton’s ESSG Division is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist to join our team. This position will be based at our Perth, Ontario Distribution Center. Position Overview: As a member of the Distribution Centre (DC) support team, the primary function of the CI Specialist is to improve organizational effectiveness and contribute to a culture of innovation & continuous improvement (CI), through the coordination and deployment of the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), Industry 4.0 and Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) tools that support the Perth DC Eaton Business System (EBS). In this function you will: Consider Safety as number one and support alignment of CI and MESH strategies at the DC. Responsible for coordinating CI & Lean activities that support the key CIF and core ELSS tools. Drive & support Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) deployment & maturity. Support / lead successful Kaizen Events, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) & CI Events for the distribution centre to progress the CIF & ELSS strategies. Serve as a Tool Champion / Lean Tool Lead (LTL) in ELSS / CI tools with emphasis on the three (3) core tools Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S+ & Standard Work (SW). Work to grow into Lean Tool Expert (LTE) certification. Support the development of local ELSS / CI Tool Champions and participants (LTL & LTP) and Experts (LTE) by supporting training, consulting & coaching. Act as an active participant and co-leader of the site CI Team. Provide additional support to the OpEx team (EHS, EQMS, Cost Out & EBS Pull), when required. Investigate and implement Industry 4.0 tools and processes that align to site FIFI’s and ideal / future state VSMs Communicate with administrative, plant, leadership, team member and support staff. Support and / or participate in training, as required. Provides Operational Assessment (OpA), in relation to CI / CIF / ELSS support, for self and validated assessments Consider and comply with Eaton Quality Management Systems (EQMS) and ISO 9001 policies, if applicable. Qualifications Basic (Required) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business / Commerce, Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical) or industrial technology. Demonstrated knowledge of EBS / continuous improvement / Lean methods and / or tools; with DC experience considered an asset. No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 100km of Perth, ON to be considered. Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. Preferred Criteria: Eaton Certified Lean Tool Lead (LTL) or Lean Tool Participant (LTP) or similar certification Six Sigma, Lean or PMP is considered an asset Position Criteria: This role will support and implement projects, processes & CI events to ensure that operational, financial and continuous improvement (CI) objectives are met, in accordance with the distribution centre / site’s High 5 of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity as well as considering customer and cost requirements. The CI Specialist is also responsible for driving implementation of the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF), key tools, across the Plant / DC. Strong understanding of O365 including Teams, Power Apps, Forms, PowerPoint, Excel, etc. Strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills with proven ability to lead change through both direct & indirect (influencing) abilities; a recognized ‘change agent’. Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, both independently & as part of a team. Passion for innovation & continuous improvement; willingness to challenge the status quo.
