Application Analyst Job Description Siemens Smart Infrastructure are recruiting for an Application Analyst (Practioner Zone 2) with experience of supporting IT systems and services to make the world a smarter place for tomorrow. This role will be home based but the successful candidate will be expected to travel to travel to the office Your primary duties will be: • 2nd point of contact and 1st point of escalation for system and I.T. process issues. • Root cause analysis and resolution for applications. • Monitor helpdesk system for work requests and system problem logs. • Work closely with team members, I.T. personnel, internal and external customers to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of services and resolution of issues. • Provide on-call support to the business. Secondary Duties • Capability to analyse technical requirements that will provide the successful means of which to deliver a software solution in terms of functional and operational remits. • Assess technical feasibility of the functional requirements - ensuring the overall solution is feasible in terms of software, hardware, security and environmental aspects. • Provide accurate timescales for application delivery/resolution based on technical assessment and the documentation provided. • Contribute to the development of software solutions that meet the specified functional requirements. • Contribute to the design, documentation, operational acceptance and successful implementation of systems. • Ensure all relevant activities are maintained through the Siemens change control and release processes. Skills Required • Oracle SQL & PL/ SQL language skills. • Unix Scripting language skills. • Understanding of other software disciplines – design, documentation, impact analysis and testing. • A demonstrable dedication to excellence in customer service. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Ability to work independently and within a wider team. • Ability to work remotely and with Third party organizations. • An understanding of the utility business and technologies involved within the industry sector. • Good capability at adapting to new systems and technologies. • Able to analyse and interpret complex data/output. • Able to produce high quality documentation.
