Job Description
- Abbott is a Fortune 500 Global Company with strong businesses in Nutrition, Medical Devices, Diagnostics and Pharmaceuticals. Abbott Pharmaceuticals Malaysia is a leading MNC Pharmaceutical company with a strong presence in Ethical and OTC businesses. Based on the overall business strategy of APAC, the Malaysia business is looking to increase investment in its OTC business as a core strategic pillar to drive stronger growth for the organization and drive a digital transformation in the organization.
- Abbott Malaysia is looking to enter a new phase of growth by investing aggressively behind its OTC portfolio via direct to consumer, digital marketing, and E-commerce initiatives. The Malaysia team is looking at a newly created role in Digital Marketing to help the organization embark on its digital journey and achieve their ambitious growth plans. The Malaysia team will also be launching a Marketing Cloud to drive more robust, and insight driven communication with HCPs.
- The Digital Marketing Manager will report to the Marketing Head Malaysia with a dotted line reporting to the APAC digital team. The Digital Manager will be responsible for leading, managing and coordinating Digital and E-commerce Strategies and Execution for the OTC Brands, in line with EPD APAC’s business strategy.
- This individual will chart the journey of digital marketing in Malaysia. With his/her strong subject matter expertise, he/she will transform how OTC brand marketing is done and will work closely with the brand managers to build strong and sustainable brands. He/she will also work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to implement the Marketing Cloud in Malaysia.
- The Digital Marketing Manager also has additional responsibility for driving the Digital Marketing and E-commerce activities in Thailand and Indonesia. Thailand and Indonesia are both embarking on driving their OTC portfolio with strong investment. This role will work closely with the product managers in both countries and lead the thinking on how to invest in digital marketing assets to drive maximum impact and sales returns.
- This role has very strong strategic importance to the organization and a successful candidate can build a strong position in the organization and can take a future regional role driving Digital Strategies and E-commerce across APAC.
Job Duties & Accountability
- Lead the best-in-class development & execution of digital platforms plans (i.e., social media, social listening, websites, apps) with clear linkage to E-commerce to complete the consumer journey and achieve/exceed the agreed KPI’s & ROI targets
- Lead the thinking (along with the brand marketing team) on how to best maximize digital marketing assets and drive strong digital marketing campaigns to deliver the Brand Objectives.
- Drive leadership in the Ecommerce space for the Key OTC Brands (across all 3 geographies) via collaboration with internal and external customers and driving innovative and tried and tested promotional activities.
- Lead EPD’s multichannel engagement (MCE) strategies to take the organization from Multichannel to Omnichannel engagement of the HCP. Improve HCP reach, engagement, and satisfaction.
- Abbott Globally drives an Adherence Program called ACARE across the Key countries. This individual will lead the a:care program, and drive the Global initiatives in Malaysia.
- Help build the marketing team’s digital capability to achieve digital transformation in the organization.
- Monitor and analyze digital KPI’s competitive activity to recommend corrective actions and opportunities to over-deliver
- Respond to evolving customer needs using data and insights to match content, channels optimally, and platforms to drive engagement and create value.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for developing a content strategy, content development, and digital ecosystem (digital marketing, CRM, e-commerce) content for audiences across digital and social platforms
- Develop digital content for Abbott brand audiences across Abbott Brand’s digital and social platforms to achieve a ready to deploy campaign toolkit (online and offline).
- Based on a profound understanding of the digital consumer journey and leveraging the digital touchpoints to deliver incremental reach, higher traffic/conversion to e-commerce, and engagement.
- Be the lead point of contact with partner agencies and guide them to execute best in class digital corporate platforms and digital campaigns
- Accurately measures, analyzes, and reports performance; with a drive towards continuous learning and improvement.
- Interacts well internally and externally with executive level management and mindset to build capability to drive digital transformation for EPD
- Responsible & owner of all local web, social, digital assets
- Drive innovative ideas and new opportunities to drive growth in the digital space (eg. Telehealth, Digihealth platforms)
- Monitor social media and company website metrics to ensure the effectiveness of content in driving consideration and trial. Monitor SEO and customer engagement and respond with content optimization.
- Insight & Analytics: Combine qualitative (e.g., behavioral, attitudinal, psychological, cultural) quantitative data (e.g., big data, analytics), customer, and market information to guide content development and drive customer engagement.
Skill, Education, Experience
- University degree preferably in e-Commerce, Marketing, Mass Communications or equivalent
- 6 - 8+ years in digital marketing (Digital Agencies, FMCG/Healthcare/Banking/Airlines/etc.) in digital marketing and ecommerce.
- Experience working for both agency and brand is a plus.
- Has a strong understanding of current online marketing concepts, strategies, and best practices, Experience in content creation across digital environments.
- Experience in designing digitally-driven programs and social media.
- Works with digital/creative Agencies.
- Ability to translate a brand story into consumer-friendly communication and action-oriented analysis
- Experience of Ethical/professional brands and programs is desired but not mandatory.
