In this vital role you will be accountable for two Operations’ FUEL Your Potential programs, which combine on-the-job development, job rotations, development assessments, mentoring, coaching, and structured learning, for top talent. Building on the Global Operations function’s aspiration to be a Best Place for Talent, FUEL includes purposeful experiences and opportunities to support participants on their journey to leadership excellence. You will lead two of the core FUEL programs – MIT LGO and FOL. You will also act as the liaison between the Operations intern programs and University Relations. This is a unique opportunity to work with and support a globally dispersed staff population. This role reports into the Human Resources Senior Manager – Operations FUEL Programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage end-to-end execution of the FUEL MIT LGO and FOL programs. This includes participant recruitment and selection; coaching and supporting participants; collecting and consolidating feedback from sponsors, managers, mentors, and participants; coordination and execution of training curriculum and engagement activities; tracking participant progress, reporting & program metrics; and end-to-end participant care
  • Work with leaders in Operations to identify domestic and international assignment/ rotation opportunities for program participants
  • Partner with functional and site lead Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) on participant progress, program feedback and updates
  • Ensure site FUEL staff is aware of FUEL FOL program agenda and local participant progress
  • Solicit feedback from site FUEL staff on FOL participants and continuous improvement opportunities for the program
  • Provide regular updates to executive-level governance committees responsible for the FUEL programs.
  • Oversee the relationship between Amgen and MIT
  • Oversee the relationship with external training and assessment partners to ensure high quality learning curriculum and development opportunities
  • Continuously improve the design and management of the FUEL MIT LGO and FOL programs; evolve program standards and business processes
  • Identify and continuously monitor meaningful measures to assess program effectiveness and business impact
  • Manage the financials associated with each program, including purchase orders, invoices, and budget forecasting and reconciliation to Finance Partners
  • Maintain program-related resources
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Global Mobility on assignments and transfers
  • Partner with the Human Resources Learning and Development team as well as the Operations functional learning team to ensure alignment of Learning and Development systems and processes
  • Partner with the Human Resources Learning and Development team, University Relations, and the Operations functional Learning & Performance team to ensure tight alignment of systems and processes
  • Ensure effective collaboration and alignment between Operations intern programs and University Relations

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

Or

Master’s degree and 2 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience

Or

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Learning & Development, Human Resources, or Instructional Design experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with career development programs in the Operations function highly preferred
  • Experience in human resources, learning, recruiting and/or leadership development role
  • Experience with coaching and providing career advice
  • Experience with program management
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills with experience managing large projects
  • Demonstrated ability to interact, influence and build relationships with all levels of staff, management, and executives
  • Demonstrated ability to understand the clients’ needs and translate them into actions
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working across functions and geographies and in a matrixed organization
