Pricing Manager

Job Description

Primary Job Function:

  • Strategic planning of pricing processes for manufactured, imported, exported, and implemented products of the Company (medicines, medical devices, dietary supplements, cosmetic products), detection, assessment and realization of possibilities for output and access of Company’s products to the market in context of pricing, analysis and risk estimation, forecasting and forming of prices for Company’s products. 

Core Job Responsibilities:

- Strategic level:

  • Systematic monitoring trends of pricing and system of medicine provision in Russia, preparation of analytic reports for regional and global Company management;
  • Development of a pricing strategy, detection and assessment of possibilities for output and access of Company’s products to the market (medicines, medical devices, dietary supplements, cosmetic products), analyses and mitigation of potential risks;
  • Analysis of price impact on the volume of Company’s product sales in key business segments (hospital segment, retail segment), development of optimal pricing approaches to establish a balance between price, volume and profitability;
  • Collaboration with global MAx team on different pricing issues.

- Tactic level:

  • Organization and conducting of pricing-committees, expert assessment of considered pricing proposals (business-cases), price approving on the global level through the corporate pricing-management system;
  • State registration (re-registration) of maximum sale prices for Company’s medicines included in the EDL list;
  • Expert assessment of business-cases for launch-products of the Company, calculation of forecasted prices for these products;
  • Calculation of transfer prices for imported products of the Company and prices of export projects, approving of these calculations on the global level through the corporate pricing-management system.

- Operational level:

  • Checking and monitoring of actuality and correctness of register entries in the State Register of Manufacturers’ maximum sale prices for medicines included in the EDL list, amending to this register;
  • Updating of information to the MDLP system about maximum sale prices for medicines of the Company included in the EDL list;
  • Changing pricing conditions in the SAP system.

Decision-making/ impact:

  • Directly impact pricing, thus affiliate top and bottom line profitability of the Company

Key success factors:

  • Deep knowledge of basic procedures, models and specific features of pricing in main segments of pharmaceutical market (commercial and tender segments, hospital and retail segments) in conditions of different price-forming factors;
  • Expert understanding of pricing policy, strategy and pricing tactic of a pharmaceutical organization;
  • Domain of strong skills to set and solve strategic, tactic and operational tasks in the sphere of pricing in pharmaceutical industry. 

Education required:

  • University degree.  Pharmaceutical, Economics degree is a strong plus  

Experience/Training required:

  • Experience working as a pricing manager, accountant, economist, financial analyst is preferred;
  • Deep knowledge and skills in the sphere of pricing and (or) financial analysis and (or) accounting to achieve high business results;
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Strategic thinking;
  • Time management and project management skills;
  • Strong communicative and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, stress resistance;
  • English – Upper-Intermediate level.
