Job Description

Defect Metrology Process Specialist Technicians perform functions associated with production reject validation from all areas of manufacturing process at Final Visual Inspection (FVI), Mechanical Visual Quality Assurance (MVQA).

They also collect and evaluate operating data for tool owners to conduct on-line equipment adjustment, ensure process optimization/improvement, troubleshooting nonstandard events in the production line and reviewing technological health and stability.

May participate in safety forums and Emergency Response Team as required. Work is somewhat complex and is performed within the spectrum ranging from narrowly defined parameters and limited judgment up to highly complex and nonstandard assignments in nature and broadly defined parameters.

High degree of judgment and initiative is required in resolving complex nonstandard problems and developing recommendations. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new work.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma with Technical Degree, Diploma or unfinished Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electromechanical/Mechatronic, Metrology, Quality or related field of studies.
  • English documentation comprehension and understanding. English level: B1.
  • 2+ years of experience as technician.
  • Willing to work during weekends and nights.
  • Unrestricted Costa Rica work permit.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using metrology equipment.
  • Problem Solving Methodologies.
  • Experience on visual inspection operations and defect validation and disposition.
  • Windows Software Packages Proficiency.
  • Knowledge in Basic Statistical Process Control and Lot disposition tools.
  • High Volume Manufacturing/Lab Environment Experience and Familiar with defect signature.
  • Knowledge in process overview in Assembly and/or Test and Finish.
  • Knowledge on Metrology, such as Reject Validation and Measurement/Inspection Equipment.
