Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Montreal, QC facility. Relocation assistance is NOT available for this role. Position Overview Eaton’s Center for Connected Intelligent Solutions (CCIS) accelerates the creation of meaningful, connected experiences through the advancement of secure reusable platforms, processes, and services. We do this through our three Centers of Excellence (CoE): IoT, Embedded Systems, and User Centered Design. While each CoE has its own areas of focus and expertise, all share a passion for working creatively to solve challenging problems that bring real value to our customers. As a DevOps Engineer within the CCIS, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining DevOps functionality that automates software building and test execution for embedded systems. This is a highly impactful position within Eaton that will provide you with great visibility throughout the entire organization and abundant opportunities for career advancement. In This Function You Will Take on responsibilities of implementing new and maintaining existing DevOps functionality that automates software building and test execution for embedded systems. These contributions may extend the existing set of DevOps components or add to existing frameworks. Incorporate relevant industry experience in using the latest available tools and technologies to extend software build and test automation frameworks using virtualized environments and/or containerization that can scale without requiring redesign. Collaborate with platform software developers, test automation engineers and IT to create DevOps workflows that can both accelerate our platform releases and increase release frequency. The work products from this group will be combined with platform deliverables to enable platform adopters to immediately benefit from a shared and re-used build framework instead of creating unique and complex software build servers and workflows. Assist other teams at Eaton in integrating our DevOps workflows into their pipelines Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required. Minimum 5 years of industry experience developing software or software build environments. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Experience with core DevOps tools, processes, and concepts. Experience with building and expanding automated builds, software testing, artifact storage and deployment. Proficient using modern version control software Fluent in Agile software development methods and tools. Must reside in the Eastern Time Zone or be available to work during EST hours Preferred Qualifications 7 years of industry experience developing software or software build environments. Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution. Familiarity integrating DevSecOps tools like Synopsys Black Duck or Coverity Experience with General Security testing: fuzz, flood, or penetration testing Administration of orchestration tools: Azure DevOps, GitHub, Bamboo, or Jenkins Embedded (RTOS / Linux) familiarity Experience with containerization Experience with common scripting/automation languages: python, bash, or PowerShell Familiarity with Windows server and Linux in a lab environment. Lab/build environment administration experience preferred.
