The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) function reports into Corporate Services (CS). CS touches the lives of every Intel employee every day. CS creates an environment where employees can prosper while creating the innovative technologies that make amazing possible. Our scope is vast and includes operating and maintaining all Intel sites, offices, labs, and factories globally as well as onsite services and onsite services and experiences that help employees stay safe and productive. CS also helps to make Intel and our community a greener place by supporting Intel's commitment to environmental sustainability, including investing in conservation projects, setting company-wide environmental targets, and driving reductions in greenhouse emissions, energy use, water use and waste generation.
Our Health and Safety Engineers make a big impact. Incumbents for this position will be responsible for the recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational hazards that may cause sickness, impaired health, or injury among the employees and/or citizens of the community; Conducts qualitative and quantitative risk assessment of workplace conditions; Liaison to appropriate regulatory agencies; Responds to customer and/or client requests or events; and Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and professional judgment.
Essential duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
a) Compliance assurance - Understands and ensures conformance with local EHS regulatory requirements and Intel specs/standards. Keep abreast of new or updated laws, rules and regulations and takes appropriate actions to ensure timely requirements implementation as well as effective communication with stakeholders. Complete all relevant required role-based training.
b) Hazard and Risk Assessment - Conduct quantitative and qualitative exposure assessments, job hazards assessments for industrial operations, risk mapping, pre-task planning and controls implementation.
c) Internal assessments - Complete periodic assessments to evaluate programs' health, effectiveness and conformance to applicable requirements and formulate action plans to support continuous improvement of safety programs.
d) Training delivery - Deliver training and train the trainer sessions, perform predictive analysis of monitoring results and trends, ensure proper recordkeeping, etc. in the context of ISO certification.
e) External Influence and Technical Leadership - Partner with external parties to influence EHS regulations and standards, as well as technology solutions that may impact Intel operations.
f) Liaison with regulatory agencies/authorities - build a strong partnership and oversee scheduled inspections or response to relevant authorities.
g) Extend safety culture - Respond to employee EHS questions and concerns, providing guidance on incident/injury investigations as needed. Collaborate with site management, site stakeholders, and/or Corporate EHS to integrate safety to regular business operations.

Qualifications
You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial safety, engineering or occupational health, or related field.
- 3+ years of EHS working experience in a high tech/large scale multinational corporation or company (experience may be offset by higher degree).
- Proficient understanding Costa Rica regulatory requirements, exposure to regulatory authorities/permit process and related ecosystem.
- Intermediate to Advance level of English.
- General computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Collaboration tools).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience applying OSHA, NFPA, or similar, and general knowledge of ANSI and SEMI requirements.
- Working with multiple geos and timezones.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
