What you will do

In this vital role you will   partner with the Oncology Global Platform Medical Director (GPMDs) to ensure the relevant components of global medical strategies in the Oncology portfolio are infused and integrated into local planning for the respective rest of world geographies defined by the product teams, in alignment with the local brand needs.  The Senior Program Manager will also collaborate with the GPMD and the local medical leads in non-large markets to ensure important information from small-mid markets have global visibility as appropriate. This is a collaborative role across many teams and partners identifying key metrics, progress and concerns and then facilitating resolution as needed.

  • Drive the bi-directional coordination and integration of insights in partnership with the ELMAC GPMD to inform product strategy for global and local teams
  • Be the key point of communication to ensure execution of key, critical activities for defined Rest of World (ROW) markets in ELMAC
  • Ensure strategic planning visibility and alignment between global and local medical leads in defined ROW markets for ELMAC
  • Understand Global Medical and Commercialization (CMZ) framework and ensure integrated collaboration with GMPD forums and Global Medical Affairs Teams (GMATs) through close partnership with the product-level GMAT SPMs
  • Identifying key functional deliverables and their inter-dependencies and intra-dependencies
  • Implementing standard methodologies and ensuring alignment and accountability
  • Identifying project issues or resource gaps and facilitating resolution
  • Reinforcing accurate decision making according to Amgen’s Decision-Making Framework
  • Monitoring and communicating progress and adherence to timelines
  • Facilitating resource planning, financial and capacity assessments, as appropriate
  • Conducting risk management, contingency and scenario planning using a variety of project management tools, as needed

You would be joining the Medical organization as a Senior Program Manager (PM) in the ELMAC geography to support the Oncology Global Platform Medical Director (GPMD) Forums.  This is a key role whose overarching objective is to partner with the GPMDs.

  • BA/BS/BSc or Masters or PHd with relevant experience
  • Substantial experience in pharmaceutical or biotech project or program management
  • Extensive experience in Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical or Healthcare field
  • Experience in a role requiring broad communication across multiple groups, levels and interest groups with the responsibility of impacting change and results
  • Experience in tracking risks to project completion including prioritizing, managing resolution and partner concern Experience tracking projects in excel, one note or another electronic dashboard type of tool
