Assistant Director, Talent & Culture

The Assistant Director, Talent & Culture will assist in the daily management of the Talent & Culture office. This role will have a focus on payroll administration, recruitment, engagement, and benefit administration.  The ideal candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Support all Talent & Culture (T&C) related activities and services including; full-cycle recruitment, training, employee relations, performance management, colleague events, health & safety, compensation, benefits and payroll administration.
  • Manage the recruitment process, ensuring effective and timely hiring with the ability to think creatively in the recruitment of colleagues and a dedication to selecting the best.
  • Stay updated on employment and recruitment trends, develop and implement ideas into the hotel
  • Assist departmental leaders in compiling and issuing corrective disciplines
  • Act as HR Administrator for payroll and HRIS System, while partnering closely with Payroll Team to execute biweekly payroll
  • Manage day to day administration of the T&C Office, ensuring that both internal and external guests are provided with high standards of service and that all T&C core standards are adhered to.
  • Champion colleague engagement and culture through organization of colleague social events, recognition and celebrations
  • Act as a co-chair for the Health & Safety Committee, and Heartist/Recognition Committee
  • Facilitate training programs and have a strong comfort level with public speaking
  • Ensure all Accor processes and polices are followed and enforced, including recognition, culture training, health & safety, benefits, ethics and workplace procedures
  • Act as an internal consultant to provide coaching and direction on T&C policy, company programs, employee relations, and employment standards.
  • Ensure the T&C department complies with all state, corporate, regional and hotel policies and procedures; and governmental regulations pertaining to all colleagues.
  • Assist with labor relations and foster positive colleague relations through an environment that encourages open communication, trust and mutual respect.
  • Office organization including filing, data entry, reports and system management
  • Assume duties of Director, Human Resources in their absence
  • Other duties as assigned

Your Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience as Human Resources Manager, preferably with expertise in the areas of Recruitment and Benefit Administration
  • University/College degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, or a combination of equivalent work experience
  • Union experience advantageous
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Passionate about quality service and talent based hiring
  • Detail oriented, organized, proactive and effective at making decisions
  • Able to work in a busy environment with minimal supervision
  • Energetic, self-motivated and creative

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Extended periods of sitting, computer and administrative office work
  • Occasional standing and walking throughout shifts.
  • May occasionally exert up to 10 pounds lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Visa Requirements: Must have proof of valid U.S. work authorization.
