Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Project Manager owns the entire Project delivery relationship with Eaton’s most important clients and through high level, highly proactive engagement will be constantly alert to opportunities to develop, improve and maintain that relationship. The Project Manager is responsible for delivering assigned Projects to Eaton clients within the parameters of Cost, Quality and Time and in accordance with the Eaton Business System and Code of Ethics. The Project Manager is responsible for assessing & managing contractual and project scope risk, and supervision of client billing cycles according to project milestones and contractual terms, resulting in on time cash collection The Project Manager will create value and establish the Eaton Project Order Management Process as a key differentiator from our competitors. The Project Manager is a positive advocate for the client within Eaton and will professionally represent Eaton at all times. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Developing sound business relationships with clients based on hi quality customer service, integrity and Eaton values Managing projects from handover through to final completion & cash collection Early identification, assessment, logging and escalation of risk (commercial, technical, scope & schedule) and management of that risk through the project delivery cycle. Managing the Project technical aspects to meet the contract and client quality expectations, controlling scope creep, managing RFI’s, and obtaining drawing, RAMS and quality check approval, compiling ‘Snag Lists’ and managing to full resolution Managing the Project Timelines: for products, services, documentation and quality to achieve on time completion Utilizing all Eaton and supplier resources assigned to their Project to best effect in achieving on time completion Strong financial acumen in revenue forecasting and cost management, good ability to enforce trading T’s+C’s and manage client expectation in defense of project profit; managing client billing cycles and invoicing leading to timely cash collection. Strong proven ability to manage projects within Eaton’s contracted scope of works, generating change/variation orders and improving project margins Technical familiarity with the Eaton product range and the ability to leverage this knowledge with the client Continually searching for ways to improve the way we do business, to upgrade existing processes, deploy new initiatives, and recommend new solutions based on analysis and client trends #LI-AP3 Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Excellent electrical engineering knowledge – bachelor’s degree or HND/C level qualification or equivalent in electrical engineering Good practical knowledge of as many of the following as possible: MV switchgear, UPS systems, LV switchgear, transformers, BMS/SCADA systems, Energy Storage. Proven Project Management skills and experience, plus formal certification: PMP Certification preferred or CAPM or Prince 2 Excellent communication, negotiation and organizational skills Excellent skills in using Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project Practical knowledge of current Construction, Design and Management (CDM) regulations Site Safety Management qualification (SMSTS or SSSTS) Strong leadership skills Safe Pass/SOLAS/CSCS card Possess and maintain a valid driving license Legally authorized to work in the UK and Ireland.
