Job Description

As a Software Engineering Manager you will lead a motivated and uniquely skilled team responsible for software development within the Developer Software Engineering (DSE) organization of the Software and Advanced Technology Group (SATG).

You will have the unique ability to manage and grow the team of software professionals including but not limited to software engineers and architects on the Intel oneAPI toolkits. This team deals with the software lifecycle end-to-end: design, development, debugging, validation and optimization, customer engagement and product support.

 

This may include development of advanced compilers, runtimes, kernel libraries, tools, etc. The successful candidate will lead product planning and implementation, ensures sound engineering practices are followed, tasks are properly prioritized matching available resources; may also be required to provide architectural and technical guidance. You will be the key person in providing direction and goals to the group and interacting with stakeholders both internal and external.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience in Computer Science or with a related field with at least 1-3 years of software engineering team leadership

  • People management experience - performance management and technical pipeline development, project management, stakeholder management, hiring
  • People management experience with a team of 5-12 engineers
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated fluency in spoken/written English

 

Preferred Qualifications.

  •  Experience working on compilers, tools, runtime libraries, etc.
  • Knowledge of x86 instruction set architecture and Advanced Vector Extensions (AVX)
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies, software engineering practices and specialized tools (source control, bug tracking, metrics collection)
  • Ability to understand software product architecture on a high level and make relevant decisions

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
