IP and Competitive Analytics (IPCA) influences Intel roadmaps for future product and IP development and is looking for new team members to build performance analysis for client and server platforms. A successful candidate will be responsible for the execution, benchmarking, and debug for internal and competition platforms. They will also work on analyzing performance behavior, communicating issues related to workload performance, identifying bottlenecks in future products and influencing the design of future designs.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Relevant experience can be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships and/or work experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of experience or related experience in lieu of degree.
- Good understanding of computer architecture, Operating Systems, Drivers and BIOS fundamentals.
- Willing to configure a computing platform to a functional state based on a set of provided requirements.
- Willing to rapidly adapt and develop functional software solutions for different processes (measuring, observing, data processing, etc.) using programming or scripting languages aligned to existing operating frameworks and guidelines. (e.g. Python and Bash)
- Candidate must have unrestricted permanent right to work in Costa Rica
- Advanced English level
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with Intel or x86 products or other CPU products in a post-silicon engineering environment is a plus
- Knowledge in Performance Measurement fundamentals and data acquisition
- Knowledge of hardware: low-level components such as I/O's, interrupts, network communication protocols, etc.
- Understanding of commonly used benchmarks and real user workloads/tests. Familiarity with industry benchmarks is a plus (i.e. SYSmark, SPEC, WebXPRT, Cinebench, Geekbench, etc)
- Experience analyzing performance using software tools.
- Experience measuring, analyzing, and debugging workloads to call out any performance gaps and drive changes through internal and external engineering teams.
- Good problem solver with strong skills for programming (e.g. Python, Bash, etc.), be able to do source code level tuning, and debug software/firmware issues, and write scripts for automating test cases.
- Experience performing workload profiling/sensitivity analysis as it pertains to aspects of the CPU (e.g. arch, cores, frequency, cache, etc.), GPU, and other features of a platform.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
