A rare and exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced, passionate Pastry Chef to join our innovative team and help bring our new suite of food and beverage brands to the next level.

Beyond working for a world-renowned brand and iconic five-star Brisbane hotel synonymous with French luxury and exceptional service, you’ll be a key driver in bringing to life our all-new French boulangerie, Chou Chou.

Your team and working environment:

The Sofitel Brisbane Central is centrally located within the heart of Brisbane City. The hotel’s 416 elegantly appointed rooms and suites are complemented by the finest personal luxuries to make this one of Brisbane’s best accommodation experiences. The hotel features a number of exquisite and extravagant food and beverage outlets, two fitness centres, a Day Spa and fully flexible conferencing and event spaces for up to 1100 delegates.

What you will be doing:

  • Produce pastries and gateaux for Chou Chou boulangerie
  • Cost management including food costs
  • Maintain and order stocks and supplies
  • Effectively run and organise the pastry kitchen
  • Contribute to the success of a highly motivated team

Your experience and skills include:

  • Creativity and passion for food and customer service
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - a team player
  • Ability to delegate tasks and follow up
  • Committed to growth and development within the Sofitel brand
  • Available for shift and weekend work typical of hospitality
  • Trade qualifications in patisserie are an advantage
